Kim Kirk
Kim Kirk is the Indigenous Education Leader at the Rainy River District School Board. Kim grew up in Fort Frances, graduated from Fort Frances High School and then went on to get her Bachelor of Arts and Education degree in Thunder Bay. Upon graduation in 2004, Kim moved West where she taught 1/2/3 split classes in Winnipeg and grade 4 classes in Calgary at Foundations for Future Charter Academy. After her son Willem was born in 2009, Kim moved back home to Fort Frances, where she could be closer to family and raise Willem where he could hunt and fish. Kim worked as a Program Support teacher with Seven Generations Education Institute to four Treaty 3 on reserve schools. Kim was most recently the Manager of the First Nation Student Success program which allowed her to work passionately to close the digital gap and provide access to innovative and exciting technology to all students. After hours, Kim sits on the Fort Frances Minor Hockey board as the registrar and enjoys watching her son play hockey.
