A Resource for Teachers to use - RIGHT NOW!

Here we are - staring down a fresh new year, 2022. I think the tweet by Christi sums how we’re all feeling quite nicely.

My colleagues and I were bouncing ideas around about how to best help teachers who are once again finding themselves teaching online. We were reminiscing about a project we had last March where we piloted into classrooms via Zoom and introduced a zillion TDSB teachers and students to wonderful possibilities offered by coding with the Makecode platform. I’ve talked before about MakeCode Arcade and using MakeCode for micro:bits, but this is all about just using the tutorials as a scaffold for teachers and their students.

I took some time to really look at the tutorials and map out a possible route from easily accessible to more challenging, adding where the coding is applicable to curriculum and came up with this little infographic - MakeCode Tutorials. Download it and save it to use - right away!

Remember - all you need is the link and some internet access you and your students are good to go! Be fearless! Don’t forget to get back to us about your learning! I love seeing how kids - and teachers - can remix these tutorials and make them sooo much better!!
