Microsoft and FCL ask: How Can We Help Close The Digital Skills Gap to Imagine a Better Future for E



There is a big week ahead for Microsoft Canada Education and Fair Chance Learning.

We are co-hosting a full week of education events that are making an impact for each and every one of our students, as Karen Truyens says when Industry, Education and Community come together we can change the futures of our students.

Dustin Jez will be at Microsoft Vancouver on February 26th and at The Calgary Board of Education on the 27th for the last week of our #MSFTIncludEd workshops, because every student deserves a Fair Chance

February 27th, I have the pleasure of co-hosting the #MSFTEduChat TweetMeet at 7:00pm EST where we will discuss the renewed focus of #DigitalSkills in our learning environments, meet my co-hosts:


On Thursday March 1st at Microsoft’s Head Campus, Microsoft and Fair Chance Learning will be co-hosting an Executive Panel to discuss the recently published ICTC study surrounding the digital skills gap - The Digital Talent Dividend: Shifting Gears in a Changing Economy.

We will joined by an incredible panel of industry leaders and experts, including:

  • Peter Singh, Chief Information Officer, Toronto District School Board

  • Manon Gardner, Executive Superintendent, Toronto District School Board

  • John Stackhouse, Senior Vice-President, Office of the CEO, RBC

  • Kim Kirk, Student Success Program, 7 Generations Education Institute

  • Barb Collins, Humber River Hospital CEO

And to wrap up the week, Fair Chance Learning and Microsoft will be hosting 220 high school students, from Halton Catholic District School Board, for a Careers in Technology focused Day to help offer digital skills experiences. It is one of our efforts to support The Creating Pathways Success, Ontario Ministry of Education Document to help students achieve: "their personal goals and become competent, successful, and contributing members of society."

Maka91Producions (Patrick Maka) | Maka is a Canadian YouTuber, with 130K subscribers! Known for his achievement hunting, he’s based in Meadowvale, Mississauga.

Camille | Camille is a TV host for Heads Up Daily TV and the host for Canadian eSports company, Northern Arena. Camille is one of the many strong women in gaming in Canada!

We want to close the digital skills gap and open the door to Imagine a Better Future for Everyone.
