About Fair Chance Learning
Who we are and who we serve.
Who is Fair Chance Learning?
Fair Chance Learning (FCL) is a Canadian learning organization founded in 2010 by Martha and Dustin Jez. For 15+ years we've built equitable, accessible learning systems for communities across North America. We believe everyone deserves a fair chance to learn, grow, and succeed — and that when people gain the skills to move forward, entire communities thrive.
Who do you work with?
We partner with organizations across four sectors — Education, Workforce, Industry, and Community. That includes workforce agencies, school boards, community organizations, associations, and employer partners. As a K-Career provider, we connect early education through to workforce advancement under one approach.
What does the Fair Chance Learning solution include?
Fair Chance Learning is a complete professional training and development solution built from six connected components:
- Platform — an always-on hub for access, cohorts, and scale.
- Content — expert-curated, workforce-ready learning resources.
- Pathways — role-based learning journeys with clear skill progression.
- Credentials — badges and certifications that validate real skills.
- Experiences — workshops, webinars, and summits, live and virtual.
- Impact — advisory, reporting, and outcomes tracking built in.
What powers the platform?
together 180,000+ courses, resources, and AI simulations — trusted by 12,000+ organizations globally — wrapped in Fair Chance Learning’s human-centred, outcomes-driven approach.
The Platform & Content
What learners get access to — and how it's organized.
What's in the content library?
Everything learners need lives in one place:
- 90,000+ expert-led courses across AI, leadership, tech, compliance, and durable skills — with digital badges on completion.
- 35,000+ business titles and audiobooks on the Bookshelf — stream or listen on any device, any time.
- 500+ AI simulation scenarios with an AI coach and personalized feedback after every session.
What skill areas are covered?
Content spans six core domains: AI & Gen AI (prompt writing, AI tools, responsible adoption); Leadership (leading teams, coaching, first-time managers); Technical & Certifications (cloud, cybersecurity, Python, CompTIA paths); Durable Skills (communication, collaboration, adaptability); Performance & Culture (DEI, wellness, agile mindset, design thinking); and Customer & Sales (customer service, sales motion, stakeholder management).
What are AI-powered simulations?
AI simulations let learners practice real-world conversations — leadership talks, customer escalations, compliance scenarios — in a safe, AI-coached environment before the stakes are real. Learners receive instant coaching on tone, clarity, and decision-making after every exchange, and the 500+ scenarios adapt to each learner's role and level in real time.
Do learners earn credentials?
Yes. Learners earn digital badges and certifications that validate real, job-relevant skills. Completions and credentials are tracked automatically and surfaced in reporting dashboards.
How does the platform support continuous learning?
Fair Chance Learning follows a repeatable, evidence-based cycle: Assess (skill benchmarks reveal gaps and generate personalized paths) → Learn (role-based content) → Practice (AI simulations build confidence) → Measure (dashboards show skill gain, completion, and ROI). As goals evolve, learners re-assess and the cycle repeats.
Security, Privacy & Access
How the platform keeps data safe and learners connected.
Where is data stored?
All data is stored in Microsoft Azure enterprise cloud infrastructure — secure, compliant, and with Canadian data residency supported.
Does the platform support single sign-on (SSO)?
Yes. The platform integrates with SAML 2.0, Okta, Azure AD, and other major identity providers for seamless, one-click access.
Is the platform mobile friendly?
Yes — it's fully responsive across all devices. Learners can access courses, simulations, and their bookshelf from any smartphone, tablet, or desktop.
What languages are supported?
The platform and content library are fully available in both English and Canadian French (Français), with bilingual navigation throughout.
Are AI simulations subject to prompt moderation?
AI simulations operate under a prompt moderation exemption, enabling open-ended practice conversations without content-filtering interruptions.
How are learner seats and licences managed?
Administrators manage seats through a central dashboard — assign, reassign, and track usage in real time, with no per-device limits.
Reporting & Outcomes
Knowing exactly where skills stand — and proving the impact.
What reporting is available?
Reporting works at every level of your organization:
- Learner Insights — individual progress, skill gain, course completions, and benchmark scores, personalized to each learner.
- Group Insights — skill growth and engagement compared across teams, cohorts, or departments to spot trends.
- Organization Insights — executive-level dashboards showing org-wide skill gain, ROI, completion rates, and program impact.
What outcomes can you prove?
Partners receive reporting-ready dashboards covering completion rates, credentials earned, and career mobility data for every learner. Across programs, Fair Chance Learning has delivered 20% average skill gain and 93% completion rates.
How We Work & Getting Started
From first conversation to first credential — here's how it works.
How does a partnership with Fair Chance Learning work?
We work in five stages, and we stay on as your long-term learning partner — not a one-time vendor:
- Connect — Tell us about your organization, your learners, and what you're hoping to achieve. We'll ask the right questions.
- Discover — We map your skills gaps, audit your current learning approach, and identify the right programs.
- Design — Your custom program is built: content curated, pathways defined, platform configured. We handle the setup.
- Launch — Learners are onboarded, programs go live, and your team gets a live dashboard with real-time data from day one.
- Grow — Review outcomes, expand to new cohorts, and add certification pathways over time.
How do I get started?
Getting started is simple — three steps, one conversation to begin:
- Schedule a walkthrough — A 30-minute live tour of the platform, content library, and an AI simulation in your context. No commitment required.
- Define your priorities — We map your skilling goals, audience, and reporting needs to the right program format and content mix. Collaborative, not prescriptive.
- Launch a pilot — Start with a focused cohort, measure skill gain, gather feedback, and build the case for broader rollout. Results before you scale.
What does a walkthrough involve?
A walkthrough is a 30-minute, no-commitment session where we show you the platform live — from login to dashboard, an AI simulation, reporting, and the content library — using examples relevant to your organization.
